Overview

Modern family life is scattered across surfaces that weren't built for it.

Parents track their kids' location in one app, screen time in another, schedules in a third, and group chats in a fourth, while the meaningful updates about the people they love most go unseen or buried in various social feeds.

User experience

Enable discussions, gain understanding

One of the most popular requests from our in-person panels were for simple tools for parents and their kids to be better able to discuss usage and behavior.

From a parent's perspective, they wanted easier tools to ask simple questions before deciding how to react and from the kids' perspective, they wanted to be able to provide more insight to avoid misunderstandings from the beginning.

Make it easy to stay informed

Your teens' habits change week-from-week, from this app to that app.  We designed the weekly recaps to give parents useful information so they know where their kids spend their time.

Teen safety

Highlighted during in-person panels with teens, we identified a critical need to provide users with honest, un-biased information on digital safety.

Teens would seek out this information on their own but viewed the answers they found online with skepticism, so I led the design of an AI driven, private chat that teens can leverage for common questions or privately find support for mental health or abuse concerns.
